Szolnok- The city of the rivers

The countryside town, Szolnok is an economic, transportation, education and tourism centre in the area and a busy centre for ferries across the River Tisza as well.

Szolnok is located at the junction of the Rivers Tisza and Zagyva. The Tiszavirág Footbridge was opened in January 2011, connecting the Tiszaliget district and the downtown. The imposing building has become the symbol of the town. The Tiszai Hajósok Square can be found just in front of the bridge, a place for several public events, during the spring and summer there is live music, restaurants and various family programs are awaiting the participants.

Other attractions: Damjanich János Museum, Hungarian Aviation History Museum, Art Colony, Szolnok Gallery, Tabán House, Szolnok Castle (mostly demolished), Partos Chapel, Downtown Church, Lutheran Church, Indóház (railway operation house), County Hall, Szigligeti Theatre, Damjanich Memorial Place, Calvary, Monument of the Martyrs of Arad.

Recently more and more festivals were held in our town. More and more people come to see the Tiszavirág Festival, the Ételkorzó and the Goulash Festival. We hope that this large-scale development will grow and our town will become recognized at national level.
